Jo Youle is a freelance journalist, radio presenter and yoga teacher.

A strange mix? Actually, No.

For the past 6 years she has worked for BBC 6 Music on their news team reporting from gigs, International music festivals, events and awards ceremonies.

Jo also had her own dance music show on Saturday nights in Brighton for Juice 107.2. Indulging her passion for re-hashed beats, every Saturday from 8-10pm you can catch The Remix for a two hour mash up , taking a trip into her re-jiggled, re-wiggled world.

More recently Jo spent three years on and off in India immersing in her practice and completing her teacher training and finally studying with her teacher in Varkala in Kerala. She now fuses her music with her practice, classes, festival workshops at Bestival & her annual Ibiza yoga retreats.

As well as working for the BBC, Jo set up Brighton Festival Radio  in 2010 and 2011, the first 24/7 on air projects in the city, in more than fifteen years to cover the event in depth for a whole month of broadcasting.

As station manager, Jo injected her heart and soul into the project, looking after teams of presenters, programming the output, booking guests, making documentaries, creating and managing the music library, and even hanging off the roof of Brighton Dome to fit the aerial.

As well as yoga and radio, Music PR and digital media is also another area Jo has branched out into the last few years making podcasts for The Smirnoff Experience series in New York, Paris, London and Shanghai and in Ibiza Jo works for Essential Ibiza, creating podcasts of the some of the biggest music events on the island.

Jo also produced a series of podcasts for the Smirnoff U. R. The Night campaign, at the superclub Matter in London.

She also fronted a series of webcasts for San Miguel Hidden Depths music events in 2008 interviewing everyone from Grandmaster Flash to the Disco power house that is the Glimmer Twins and several for the BBC – take a look here.
