For the past two years Jo has worked with the the UK’s biggest Arts festival to set up a month long radio station.

Curated in it’s 44th year by Brian Eno, the aim was to give the Brighton Festival another platform on which to expand and blow the artists work wide open to make it more accessible.

From the likes of leading choreographer Hofesh Schecter, conductor and composer Howard Goodall to 84 year old Jazz drummer Roy Haynes, listeners got the inside track on the artists work, their processes and what drove them to create it.

As well as featured interviews, we had band’s in for live acoustic sessions, exclusive bespoke DJ mixes from the likes of Jon Hopkins , Lali Puna and Eames, plus live listings and daily ticket give aways.

Every night from 7-8pm BFR hosted Kids bedtime Radio Hour recorded exclusively for the station by local authors on the 26 Letters programme. With the likes of Allan Ahlberg reading Burglar Bill and the retro Mr Men series getting an airing, Mum’s and Dad’s got to put their feet up after bathtime, crack open the vino and take a well earned rest.

Brighton Festival Radio will not be on air this year, but check out all the action from last summer right here.
